The Accounts Executive will work as part of the Cash Operations Asia Function within the Finance Team.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the financial transactions related to office and client accounts for the Hong Kong and Singapore offices. They will work closely with the HK Accounts Assistant and collaborate with the Accounts Executive in Singapore.

The Accounts Executive will ensure efficient cash operations across Asia, maintaining robust relationships with bankers and auditors. This role reports into the Head of Hong Kong and Head of Cash Operations (London).

Roles and Responsibilities 

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of office and client accounts, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and timely, including;
  • The receipt and allocation of funds received in settlement of our fees, with due attention to third party payments and internal policy.
  • The receipt and allocation of funds received into our client accounts, with due consideration to the local accounting rules, third party payments and internal policy.
  • The withdrawal of client account funds in accordance with local accounting rules and internal policies.
  • Payment of supplier invoices for HK and Singapore.
  • Payment of expenses for HK and Singapore.
  • Professional Disbursements as due.
  • Payroll.
  • Monitor cash flow and work with London to manage liquidity and ensure optimal financial operations.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with the Accounts Assistant in HK and Cash Operations colleagues in London and Singapore to ensure seamless financial operations within the Hong Kong office.
  • Coordinate with the Singapore colleague to align cash operations across Asia, supporting day to day processing and sharing best practices and insights.

Banking and Auditing Liaison:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with banking partners, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and optimising banking services.
  • Liaise with auditors to facilitate audits and ensure financial statements are accurate and comply with legal standards, leading the HK audit process and supporting the Singapore audit as required.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all financial activities comply with local and international regulations, including anti-money laundering and data protection laws.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls and procedures to safeguard assets.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards in Hong Kong and internationally.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, bankers, and auditors.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
