This international law firm has a history going back to the 1930s. It is now a leading and award-winning firm with a client base encompassing some of the best names in retail, banking, real estate, sports, and utilities.

The firm is based in the city, ideally placed for commuters. They offer a generous benefits package that includes a flexible element with an option of choice. 

They are now looking to hire a Accounts Payable Supervisor. The role will involve supervising the day to day running of the AP function. Overseeing more junior team members and ensuring immediate queries and training points are covered. Supporting the AP Manager with any ad hoc project work .

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the day to day running of AP function. The individual should be the first line of support for any team queries 
  • Responsibility for oversight of the day-to-day workload of all team members, arranging cover in staff absences and distributing accordingly when required.
  • Responsibility to report back to London team/supervisor on daily basis
  • Assisting with any Ad Hoc duties as directed by AP manager
  • Opportunity to get involved in AP Projects, suggest and implement processes to improve efficiencies across the AP function.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience of working in a similar large or corporate firm, with consistent exposure to high volumes of work and the respective pressure this brings is essential to this role.
  • Previous relevant experience of using Chrome River or a similar cost automation platform is strongly preferred. 
  • Excellent VAT knowledge is vital.
  • Prior experience of working in a senior capacity, being a local point of contact, managing and delating work pro-actively to more junior member of the team. 
  • Previous experience of working independently of team members in different locations is preferable.
  • Previous working knowledge of 3E or similar accounting system is preferable but not essential.
