Overview:
An independent law office in Manhattan is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their legal team. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense, particularly in auto accidents and premises liability cases. This role provides an opportunity to handle complex litigation matters within a reputable firm committed to client service and professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of insurance defense matters, focusing on auto accident claims and premises liability cases.
- Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Overseeing all phases of litigation, including client communication, depositions, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
- Investigating claims, reviewing accident reports, medical records, and other relevant evidence.
- Collaborating with insurance carriers, clients, and experts to develop effective case strategies.
- Ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Maintaining accurate case documentation and billing records.
- Staying informed on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting insurance defense practices in New York.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- At least 2 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on auto accidents and premises liability.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
