Our client, a globally recognised law firm, is actively recruiting for a highly experienced England & Wales Qualified Lawyer to join them on a permanent basis in London - working as their new Deputy Chief Privacy Officer.
You will be the Deputy to the Chief Privacy Officer - supporting in the delivery of appropriate data privacy/protection and governance strategies, policies and procedures and all level/regulatory obligations.
As the successful Deputy CPO, you'll be responsible for (but not limited) the following:
- Supporting the CPO in the delivery of data privacy strategy
- Manage and provide day-to-day leadership and advice on global data incident response
- Leading on data protection regulatory reporting, developing and maintaining systems and processes
- Ensuring the safeguarding of individuals privacy and security
- Leading thorough investigations into data privacy and security issues
- Provide expert advice on the compliant handling of data (throughout its lifecycle)
- Design and champion data privacy and security training and awareness programmes

To be considered, you'll need to have/be the following:
- Be an England & Wales Qualified Lawyer, with a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience
- Have a recognised data privacy qualification and/or a significant amount of experience in data privacy (from a law firm, professional services or similar corporate environment)
- Have expert knowledge of international privacy laws
- Be experienced in advising on data aspects of data, technology and cybersecurity
- Have the ability to advice on strategies at a global level and mitigate risks associated with data privacy
