Our client is the UK’s leading law firm for workplace pension schemes, advising trustees, employers, providers and corporate investors. They work exclusively in the pensions and retirement savings industry.
They are now looking for an Finance Operations Manager, there is currently a team of three in the accounts team that report directly to the Director of Finance. Our client has seen steady growth over several years and is looking to increase the operational capacity of the team as a result. In addition, recent changes to the firms accounting systems, billing procedures and credit control offer further opportunities to a dynamic team member to help drive change.
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.
- Support the Finance Director in developing the annual budget, perform forecasting and conduct variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and reports. Provide financial analysis and commentary to the Finance Director to support senior management and strategic decisions.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, such as billing, payroll, credit control and accounts payable.
- Ensure adherence to all external regulatory requirements (e.g. AML and SRA regulations) and internal policies.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end financial close processes and assist with annual audits.
- Assisting the Director of Finance with any administrative duties as necessary
- Assisting with any general queries from partners and other members of staff
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of three years professional office experience, ideally with legal accounting knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
- Adept at partnering with operational teams, translating data into clear recommendations
- Month end close experience
