Professional Support Lawyer – Private Equity Real Estate (PERE)

A leading global law firm with over 2,600 lawyers across more than 45 offices worldwide is seeking an experienced Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join its highly regarded Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) team in London on a fixed-term contract.
The firm’s client base spans multiple sectors including financial services, real estate, energy, life sciences, retail, and technology. It is consistently recognised by leading legal directories for excellence in client service, technical capability, and innovation.
The Role
This position will support the Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) group, contributing to the development and implementation of the team’s knowledge strategy and providing essential legal and market insights.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and analysing key legal, regulatory, and market developments across private equity, funds, and real estate sectors.
- Developing and maintaining precedents, templates, guidance notes, and other know-how materials.
- Supporting client-facing initiatives including briefings, articles, seminars, and workshops.
- Assisting with training and knowledge-sharing across the PERE team.
- Collaborating with business development and innovation teams to improve efficiency and client service delivery.
Key Areas of Focus
- Fund Formation – private equity real estate funds (closed- and open-ended structures)
- AIFMD/UK regulatory considerations
- Carried interest and co-investment arrangements
- Joint ventures – UK and cross-border
- GP stakes, strategic investments, and secondaries
- Private M&A involving real estate platforms and portfolios
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualification as a solicitor or barrister in England & Wales.
- Experience gained at a leading law firm, ideally within private equity, real estate funds, or corporate transactions.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work proactively and independently with senior stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in knowledge management, legal training, and innovation.
Prior PSL experience is desirable but not essential.
