Senior Associate – Commercial Solicitor (5+PQE)
Contract: 12-Month FTC
Location: Leeds | Full-Time
We are working with a leading global law firm’s managed legal services arm, which is seeking an experienced Commercial Solicitor (5+ PQE) to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a virtual in-house lawyer, partnering with major financial services organisations and household retail brands while being fully supported by a global practice.
As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you will deliver high-quality legal support across a range of commercial matters, helping clients manage their day-to-day legal needs more effectively. This role combines traditional legal expertise with innovative approaches, leveraging legal technology and flexible delivery models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts (including goods and services, SaaS, outsourcing, and professional services).
- Providing strategic advice on commercial transactions, compliance, and risk management.
- Building strong client relationships and acting as a trusted legal adviser.
- Collaborating with colleagues across legal, operational, and technology teams.
- Supervising and supporting junior lawyers and paralegals.
- Driving continuous improvement and efficiencies in legal service delivery.
We’d love to hear from candidates who:
- Are qualified solicitors in England & Wales with 5+ years’ PQE.
- Have strong commercial contracts experience (in-house or private practice).
- Ideally bring experience in financial services, though this is not essential.
- Possess excellent communication, drafting, and organisational skills.
- Are confident working with senior stakeholders and building client relationships.
- Are adaptable, collaborative, and keen to work with technology-driven legal solutions.
