Senior Business Development Executive

Location: London (hybrid working – 3 days office, 2 days WFH)

Salary: up to £60k (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent


A highly regarded City law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Executive to join their highly regarded and collaborative Business Development and Marketing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a BD professional with at least five years of experience in a legal or professional services environment to take the next step in a high-profile, client-facing role.


This position offers a broad and varied workload across the firm’s practice groups and sectors. Reporting to the Head of Business Development & Marketing, the successful candidate will support and drive strategic initiatives across pitches, client development, referrals, and directory submissions. You'll have the chance to work directly with partners and fee earners, contributing to key growth and relationship-building strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage end-to-end pitch processes, tailoring content to client needs and market trends.
  • Track and report on business development outcomes, including pipeline, success metrics, and ROI.
  • Maintain and enhance marketing collateral, ensuring alignment with the firm’s brand and standards.
  • Support international referral tracking and provide insights to help inform strategic decisions.
  • Drive client development initiatives including key account management and client listening.
  • Contribute to high-quality legal directory submissions in collaboration with stakeholders.


About You:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a BD or marketing role within a law firm or partnership environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a confident, proactive approach to engaging with stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication, project management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and data analysis tools is highly desirable.
  • Professional qualifications in marketing or business development are a plus.
