My client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance, and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices in the UK.
They are now looking for a VAT Analyst to join their Tax team based in London, on a fixed term contract until the end of March 2026. The VAT Analyst will work as part of the Tax team, to provide a proactive reporting and support service to the Firm.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of the firm’s global indirect tax returns and ensuring that all statutory indirect tax filing deadlines are met.
- Assisting with the implementation of indirect tax processes for existing offices.
- Provide support on day to day questions in relation to Internal VAT/GST compliance.
- Review annual tax and statutory compliance deadlines with other tax advisors/accountants to maintain an accurate compliance calendar.
- Liaise with relevant tax authorities in relation to entity indirect taxes.
- Liaise with our offshore in-house finance teams and external accountants when assisting with the preparation of UK and international Tax compliance.
- Monitoring changes to indirect tax rules and legislation on a continuous basis to ensure compliance.
- Processing of applications for certificates of tax residence.
- Assist with the completion of all other tax compliance obligations in the UK and internationally including income and corporation tax computations and returns, WHT and tax relief claim calculations.
- Involvement in transfer pricing compliance including the preparation of local and master files and other taxation policies in the Firm.
Candidate Profile
- CTA/ATT/ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience
- Previous tax experience in a professional services environment
- Previous indirect tax compliance experience
- Demonstrable indirect tax knowledge, preferably with experience across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong attention to detail and discipline in managing your own workload
- Strong understanding and practical use of Excel
- Knowledge/experience of legal accounting system Elite 3E desirable
