On the 4th of October, Career Legal and DVF Recruitment had the privilege of hosting our 'Talking Mental Health' breakfast seminar.

What an inspiring morning we had:

We brought together clients, colleagues, and some truly exceptional guest speakers for an open and inspiring discussion on mental health, and wellbeing in the workplace.

A huge thank you to our incredible speakers, Sally Orange MBE, Paul Minter, Kim Murray, and Matt Ellison, for sharing such personal and powerful stories with us. Each speaker brought unique insights and practical tools that everyone could take away and apply in their daily lives. It's one thing to talk about mental health in general, but it’s invaluable to be able to hear real experiences and walk away with techniques we can use.

Attendee Testimonials:

Karolina Taflaj – “One of the very few events on mental health that felt 100% authentic and not a tick box exercise. You are really living by your values, well done. Amazing speakers, I am in absolute awe of Sally Orange MBE.”

Dom Mills- “Fantastic morning with DVF Recruitment and Career Legal for their Mental Health Awareness breakfast. Unbelievable stories and speakers, I'm now on my way back to the office with a refreshed positive attitude.”

Sally Orange MBE- “It was fantastic to see so many colleagues from DVF Recruitment and Career Legal and some of their clients come together with genuine openness and curiosity to explore how we can better support mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Together, we’re continuing to break down stigma and create cultures where it’s safe to talk.”

Danielle Gill- “The team loved it. Hopefully you will do another soon.”

Outcome:

Mental health affects everyone differently. There's no one-size-fits-all approach, no simple solution that works for everyone. What yesterday's seminar reinforced is that creating workplaces where people feel safe to talk openly about their mental health is about the small acts of kindness and empathy that we show one another every day. Listening without judgment and checking in with a colleague who seems quieter than usual. It's about understanding that vulnerability isn't weakness; it's strength.

Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope you gained some valuable skills that you were able to implement into your own lives.

If you'd like to learn more about our commitment to mental health in the workplace, or if you have questions about future events, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
