My client is a growing international law firm specializing in litigation and dispute resolution, particularly in the insurance, reinsurance and liability areas. They have offices spanning the globe and over 1000 employees, with headquarters in the City of London and several other offices in the UK. 

They are now looking to hire a Legal E Biller on a permanent basis.

This role is based at the firm’s Essex office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that fee earners are fully compliant with comprehensive time recording policies 
  • Check charge rates and ensure compliance with client service level agreements (SLAs) 
  • Respond to all queries and requests in a timely and efficient manner, referring complex and contentious issues to the Assistant Billing Manager 
  • Maintain matter budgets and resolve billing related issues promptly to avoid delays to the revenue cycle. 
  • Manage the e-Billing function from start to finish, ensuring there are minimal delays in submitting to e-Billing portals, together with following up on rejections and appeals. 
  • Processing invoice rejections and ensuring a quick response is sent to the client.
  • Onboarding new clients
  • Produce and circulate WIP reports as required (monthly minimum)
  • Engage with fee earners to ensure prompt billing to minimise WIP lock-up
  • Draft interim and final bills as requested (in accordance with SLA) and ensure complete and accurate billing information
  • Track and chase unsettled draft bills on a regular basis, providing reports to the Team Leaders 
  • Ensure any amendments are processed and permanently changed in billing set-up where appropriate

Candidate Profile

  • You will possess working knowledge of Legal Billing cycles and WIP, knowledge of Solicitors Accounting Rules and VAT and have attention to detail. 
  • Being self-motivated, demonstrating initiative and being able to prioritise workload will be advantageous. 
  • Having excellent communication skills and good IT skills/ knowledge of financial systems will be required.
