Mergers & Acquisitions Associate – New York

Join an elite team of M&A lawyers advising on some of the most exciting and complex transactions in the world, with a focus on cutting-edge companies in the technology and life sciences sectors. The practice is seeking a talented M&A Associate with 6–8 years of relevant experience to join its New York office.

The Role

This is a dedicated M&A position (not a general corporate role) where the successful candidate will act as a lead associate on high-value strategic transactions. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and negotiating definitive transaction agreements.
  • Leading deal teams and supervising junior associates.
  • Coordinating with subject matter experts across practice areas.
  • Managing client relationships throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Leading negotiations with counterparties.

Candidate Profile

  • 6–8 years of M&A experience, with exposure to public and/or private company transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as lead associate on deals.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and transaction management skills.
  • Superior academic credentials and/or top-tier law firm training.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $390,000 – $435,000, based on year classification.
  • Discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
